Thanks for this post... i have been wondering about whether I have made the right choice to pursue a PhD part-time (while being a full-time teacher) and the question of happiness (now or in the future) is very very important...it maybe hard, strenuous, tiring, but in the end, it is all about whether or not you think it will bring you happiness. Surely one could be doing other things, but it is all about the inner self.
